A Global Approach
Since 1987 Ellamp has been designing and manufacturing components and Interior Systems for public road and railway transport. With 4 factories all around the World (Italy, Turkey, Mexico and China) Ellamp is able to offer its customers, builders, coachbuilders and fitters a tailor made flexible service with a global approach, starting from initial design project up to the delivery of finished product. As a supplier of complete systems and interior finishes, as well as a manufaturer of single quality components, Ellamp has been able to gain the trust of the most important international groups in public transport sector over time. Recently, all this has become part of PRETTL Group, allowing ELLAMP Systems to expand its boundaries, its technologies, its products and its strength. In fact the Prettl Group has over 40 industrial offices around the world, numerous technologies and is certainly among the leaders in the automotive, appliance and energy sectors.
DESIGN
The R&D team based in Italy, has design responsibility for Group’s global offices, and starts each project with a conceptual and stylistic study. The first sketches, whether drawn on paper or designed directly on the computer, are gradually refined to create the virtual three-dimensional model. In tandem, we also analyze the most appropriate technological solutions and materials mix. Once we’ve finalized and validated the project, we begin the engineering phase. Ellamp is also able to deliver quick and flexible standard solutions, which can be easily adapted to virtually any vehicle, and allow our customers to reduce their costs without sacrificing quality or performance.
ENGINEERING
Our highly experienced engineering team is centralized in Italy with responsibility for each of the Group’s worldwide locations. Using state of the art technologies that allow us to react with extreme flexibility during the entire execution process, our engineers work closely with our customers to prevent and solve any adaptation issues related to the target vehicle.
After the first tests on the virtual model, the team completes its structural analysis and mathematical calculations to certify that the system and the singe pieces are ready to move to the manufacturing phase.
PRODUCTION
All Ceiling Systems, finishes, single components and all the other Ellamp products, leave the Group’s Factories ready to be installed on buses and trains all over the World. The perfect compliance with the project initial specifications, combined with the passing of rigorous and punctual validation tests, guarantee high quality standards for all customers in every part of the World.
TEST
The final validation touches the most important product parameters. From the structural elements resistance to the operating temperature, from vibrations to electrical and lighting system up to electromagnetic compatibility. Testing is a crucial step to guarantee the highest quality standards for which Ellamp is known in all the the Markets where operates since 1987. The conducted tests are: Strength test (for structural elements), Temperature test, Electrical test, Lighting test (Darkroom simulation), Long Run test (Lighting), Fatigue test (mechanical parts), Vibration and Shock Analysis, EMC and ESD.
LOGISTICS
According to the logistics requirement, as standard, Ellamp can ship worldwide in 3 different methods:
- CBU (Completely Build Up) Interior System delivered fully assembled, ready to be mounted on vehicle structure.
- SKD (Semi Knocked Down) Interior Systems delivered partially assembled; e.g. Lighting Channel is supplied with LED strip modules, cables and panels already upholstered. All other parts are delivered dismounted.
- CKD (Completely Knocked Down) Interior Systems deliverd completely disassembled but machining are generally included.
